Carbon neutral printing with the
natureOffice program
A cost-efficient and smooth entry into
voluntary climate protection.
An opportunity for print shops,
an additional value for companies.
Preventing, reducing, offsetting.
After the audit for climate-neutral printing, the print shop is in the position to calculate the CO2 emissions of individual printed matters and offer a compensation via carbon offset projects to their clients.
The client can then label his printed matters with the logo "carbon neutral print production".
Climate-neutral printing implies a symbiosis of actual climate protection and an additional value for the brand, company and communication. It is an important component of ecologically-minded actions of print shops and businesses and can be integrated into their sustainability strategies.
With the natureOffice procedure for climate-neutral printed matter all the CO2 emissions, which are generated directly and indirectly while printing, are calculated and offset via the purchase and binding suspension of approved certificates of climate protection-thus making them climate neutral. In this appraisal the CO2 emissions, which are generated by the paper manufacture and transportation, are included just like, e.g., print finishing and the final logistics.
With the natureOffice procedure for climate-neutral print matter all
relevant CO2 emissions generated during the production of print
matter are calculated and offset later on via the purchase and
binding suspension of approved certificates of
climate protection.
All relevant CO2-emission sources are included:
- Paper (raw material, production, manufacture, logistics)
- Energy (energy mix)
- Prepress and pre-stage
- Printing plates, ink, fountain solution and cleaning agent
- Machine running time, subsequent processing
- Final logistics
BIFA Umwelt Institut has examined and certifies that the methodology to calculate the CO2 balance with the natureOffice procedure for climate-neutral printed matter is scientifically accurate. That is a further quality certificate for the natureOffice procedure.
