Impact Water is a socially orientated and globally active company that is committed to providing clean drinking water for schools. Through the project, Impact Water provides reliable, cost-effective water treatment technologies to public and public schools in Africa. To date, over 10,000 schools and more than 3 million pupils have been reached. Over time, the project will be expanded to support more than 100,000 schools in realising the human right of access to safe drinking water and enabling sustainable development.
The technology
Impact Water supplies schools with proven water treatment technologies that meet national and international drinking water standards. Impact Water's safe drinking water systems work in all schools, even those without electricity and water connections. The use of different technologies ensures that a suitable solution is available for all schools, regardless of the respective infrastructural challenges. The water treatment technologies used by the project include chlorine tablets, ceramic water filters, automatic chlorine water treatment systems and UV-based water treatment systems.
