COMBINED CARBON OFFSET PROJECT
Deutschland Plus - Green city

Deutschland Plus GREEN CITY

Munich, Bavaria

Founded in 1990 as a non-profit association, Green City e.V. is now one of the largest environmental organizations
in Munich, with the aim of reducing motorized private transport and the emission of climate-damaging gases and
making the city greener and more livable

An eight-person, honorary board of directors and around 29 employees work hand in hand with over
2,500 additional volunteers and members. Together they advocate city-friendly mobility,
lifelong education, sustainable urban design and responsible use of energy in and organize around 150 events
and campaigns every year that are close to people and self-confidently put topics on the city agenda.

The implemented projects are financed by members, donations, grants and commissioned work,
because Green City e.V. is politically and financially independent. The entire club received 2012/13 and 2013/14
an award from UNESCO as part of the UN World Decade of Education for Sustainable Development and
since 2016 the award as a place of learning by the German UNESCO Commission and the Federal Ministry
for education and research.

Green City e.V. cultivates a culture of diversity and solidarity. That is why the association has the Diversity Charter
signed and joined a network of more than 2,300 organizations and companies that share this common conviction.
